AUSA 2023: Flyer Defense launches Flyer 72 “the Beast”

Launched at the AUSA annual meeting in Washington, DC, this week, the Flyer 72 Multi-Purpose Mobile Fire Support System (MPMFSS), nicknamed ‘The Beast, is a finely-tuned configuration of the Flyer 72 Heavy Duty ground mobility vehicle, that integrates a range of advanced systems to enhance capabilities in the CUAS, radar detection, fire support, and firepower missions.

“Its robust design ensures effectiveness in addressing contemporary challenges faced in modern warfare,” said company CEO, Oded Nechushtan.

Equipped with a Kongsberg remote weapons system, the Scorpion ‘shoot and scoot’ 120mm mortar launching system with up to 42 rounds of ammunition, four Leonardo DRS RPS 42 S-band hemispheric air surveillance radar panels, and the D-Fend Solutions Enforcer C-UAS system, “The Beast” offers operators complete 360° coverage. Its operational capabilities extend beyond detection, enabling it to track and engage both direct and elevated threats.
