Wing completed nearly 1,000 drone deliveries within Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) areas in Dallas and Charlotte during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the company said in an announcement.
The deliveries took place between 16 June and 15 July, with Wing operating in two US cities that hosted World Cup matches and team base camps. The company said it worked with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enable the operations.
The FAA established nearly 250 TFRs covering World Cup match venues, fan festivals, team hotels and training sites. The agency said more than 700 unauthorised drones were seized during the tournament as part of a wider federal, state and local counter-drone operation.
Wing operates commercial package delivery services under an FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate. FAA guidance states that commercial drone package delivery operators must use the Part 135 certification process and obtain airspace authorisation before beginning operations.
