DroneShield launches portable RF intel system

DroneShield has launched a portable RF intelligence system designed to help defence, government and security organisations better understand the electromagnetic environment. 

RfRecon enables operators to sense, identify, locate and assess RF activity from a single device. Built on the company’s recently launched proprietary RfAI-3 intelligence architecture, it provides operational context to support decision-making, rather than merely collecting spectrum data.   

RfRecon combines increased radio frequency spectrum coverage, processing, AI compute, storage and memory with new capabilities such as direction finding, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, Remote ID, AIS/ADS-B detection, integrated GNSS and hardware-based security. Users gain access to future improvements in RF intelligence capabilities over time.

The open architecture system is designed to operate within a layered defence architecture. It supports dismounted, vehicle-mounted, expeditionary and fixed-site operations. RfRecon interoperates with tools including ATAK, third-party command-and-control platforms and complementary sensor technologies. It can also form part of layered counter-drone architectures incorporating cyber takeover and kinetic defeat capabilities.
