Dutch Drone Delta issues call for drone projects with EUR 25k available per use case

Dutch Drone Delta has opened a call for proposals for drone projects in the Netherlands that can make a social and economic impact.

The organisation said that there is often a big gap between a good idea and its practical application and that this is where Dutch Drone Delta aims to help. “Many good drone innovations get stuck between idea, test and practice. With this call for proposals, we want to make that step smaller. We are looking for parties with a concrete challenge or a promising application, and connect them with the network, knowledge and practical environments needed to move forward.”

Companies, start-ups and scale-ups, government bodies, academia and regional partnerships are all invited to submit proposals for applications of uncrewed aerial vehicle technology.

For selected projects, Dutch Drone Delta is making co-financing available up to a maximum of EUR 25,000 per use case. In addition, selected parties receive access to the Dutch Drone Delta network, support from the organisation’s team, and visibility through its communication channels.

“With this call, we are seeking proposals that go beyond a demonstration or experiment. We are looking for drone projects that tackle a concrete problem, in which multiple parties can collaborate, and whose lessons are also applicable elsewhere in the Netherlands,” said Lennard Verhoeff, Chairman of Dutch Drone Delta.

Examples of possible applications include:

  • a drone that assists in infrastructure surveillance;
  • an application for incident response or situational awareness;
  • support of emergency services or security organisations;
  • inspection of hard-to-reach locations;
  • drone deployment for healthcare logistics;
  • monitoring of nature reserves;
  • an application that contributes to the safe integration of drones into the airspace;
  • a project that helps make regulations, permits or cooperation more workable in practice.

This first round focuses primarily on the theme of safety and resilience.  This includes drone applications related to supervision, incident response, situational awareness, critical infrastructure, public safety, port and airport environments, counter-drone issues, and support for security organisations, emergency services, or regulators. Proposals within other themes are also welcome but will be treated as a priority in a subsequent round.

Proposals can be submitted up to and including 31 July 2026 using the submission form.
