China’s Silent Hunter laser C-UAS system “now in use in UAE, Saudi Arabia and Russia”

China’s Silent Hunter directed-energy air defence system has reportedly been sighted in Abu Dhabi Airport in the United Arab Emirates. The system made its first appearance in the country back in 2022.

Saudi Arabia also deployed the Silent Hunter laser C-UAS system in Saudi Arabia “to protect against reconnaissance UAVs and loitering munitions received by the Houthis from Iran,” said the Ukrainian Militarinyi news source  “The supply of the Silent Hunter laser system became known in March this year when the Saudi Ministry of Defense showcased a video with this laser.”

The unit has also been deployed in Russia, according to a Russian news source writing on the Telegram platform.

The system is understood to have a power output ranging from 30 to 100 kilowatts, with an interception range of up to 4 km.
