Directed-energy weapons manufactured in China, including hand-held laser weapons, can remove a drone from the sky according to a report in Defense News. Among Chinese exhibits at IDEX 2019 in Abu Dhabi, Poly Technologies showed the Silent Hunter laser weapon, capable of generating up to a 30kW beam, targeting small unmanned aerial systems and other airborne threats. When truck-mounted, the laser offers mobile counter drone capability.
