High Lander and Starling sign MoU for BVLOS operations

Unmanned traffic management (UTM) specialist, High Lander, and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) drones and ground station developer, Starling Inc., have signed a memorandum of understanding to combine the capabilities of Starling’s proprietary aircraft and dock with the scalability and regulatory support of High Lander’s UTM and C2 software, creating an end-to-end package for complex beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations.

The combination will support applications including critical infrastructure maintenance, public safety and homeland security missions. The companies will explore mutual opportunities worldwide, but in the United States in particular, the partnership is designed to enable private and public organisations to conduct long-range operations at scale and in full compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration’s BVLOS framework.

Specifically, High Lander and Starling will integrate Starling’s Pathfinder-X eVTOL and corresponding docking station with High Lander’s Orion DFM operating system and Vega UTM airspace management platform.
