India starts work on Drone City and Space City

India’s Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal has laid the foundation stone for the Drone City and Space City developments in Andhra Pradesh.

India’s first Drone City at Orvakal Industrial Node near Kurnool will dedicate approximately 300 acres to drones, helping the country become self-reliant in the production of high-quality drones. The facility will go some way to achieving Prime Minister Modi’s vision of having a drone in every farmer’s field. India has also used drones in military actions, such as in Operation Sindoor in May.

Meanwhile, Space City near Sriharikota will become a hub for rocket launchers.
