EUROCAE has published a new draft document prepared by its working group on uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) known as WG-105.
ED-340: Minimum Operational Performance Standard for UAS Communications by Cellular Networks outlines the standards for airborne equipment using 3GPP Cellular Networks based on 4th Generation Long Term Evolution (4G LTE) and 5th Generation New Radio (5G NR) technologies.
The primary focus is on supporting UAS for small package delivery and urban air taxi operations. Open consultation will be closed the 7th of September 2025.
Members can review the proposed draft on the EUROCAE Workspace and complete the comment form. Replies are invited by November 11, 2025.
