New survey of European drone operations and safety risk assessment to help frame future standard setting

By Peter van Blyenburgh

This notification has as the purpose of informing members of the European drone operator community about the upcoming UAS OPS survey that has been created in the framework of the AW-Drones Project, which is funded by the European Union in the context of the Horizon 2020 Programme. This is in addition to the survey on mission purposes and market sectors announced earlier in the month (https://www.unmannedairspace.info/latest-news-and-information/survey-of-european-drone-operations-launched-to-help-frame-future-standard-setting/)

The UAS OPS survey (on drone operations & safety risk assessment) will be available online in English, French, German & Spanish. The conclusions will be published and made available, free-of-charge, to all interested parties.

The UAS OPS survey is based on an operation-centric approach (instead of drone centric). Consequently, it does not make a distinction between drones based on their size, mass, airframe configuration, or type of propulsion.
