FAA chooses “cohort” of eight companies to pioneer remote identification implementation

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a “cohort” of eight companies to work out the implementation details of drone operations’ remote identification (RID) rules and procedures and to establish the first set of authorized network of RID service suppliers.

The cohort is established through no-cost Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs) among the following participants:

  • A^3 by Airbus LLC
  • AirMap, Inc
  • com Services LLC
  • Intel Corporation
  • OneSky Systems Inc.
  • Skyward IO, Inc
  • T-mobile USA
  • Wing Aviation LLC

These MOUs will remain in effect until June 2021.
