Dutch and German transport ministries approve SAFIR-Med cross-border BVLOS UAS operations

The Netherlands Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport, and Germany’s Lufthahrt-Bundesamt have granted full operational authorisation to the SESAR research programme SAFIR-Med to fly cross-border beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) operations in the ´specific` category between the Netherlands and Germany.

Project team members, including flyXdrive, plan to conduct flights between the Zuyderland medical centre in Heerlen and the Uniklinik RWTH in Aachen.
