Rule making body JARUS seeks input from UAS operators on cyber security requirements just released

The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) has issued the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) Annex E – Cyber, with a request for external consultation.

This material has been developed to provide guidance on how to mitigate cyber threats to UAS operation safety within the SORA context and, as such, it is intended to support all potential users from very small operators to large complex organizations.  JARUS adopted language to best communicate the ideas it wants to share with the operator community.

The JARUS committee has published good guidance rather than wait for perfect guidance which never sees the light of day. The document aims to present such guidance with a request for feedback to improve it even further.

Cyber was discussed at the AUVSI Xponential panel “Defining Appropriate Cyber Security Requirements – A Risk Based Approach” on 4 May 2021. Feedback is requested by 4 June 2021.
