ICCAIA global advisory group will ensure harmonised regulatory framework, ICCAIA tells ICAO meeting

“We envision an advisory group under ICCAIA to provide a consolidated view in support of ICAO’s mission to ensure a regulatory framework and implementation that meets the needs of all stakeholders, and advise ICAO and state regulators,” said Bob Lee, Chair of the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA) CNS committee, announcing the launch of the new group. “The challenge to integrate new airspace users safely, efficiently and effectively and avoid fragmentation in concepts, regulations, systems and safety performance.”

Bob Lee was speaking at the ICAO global symposium on the implementation of innovation in aviation addressing the new digital era of aviation on 10 December 2020.

Membership of the advisory group will be broad to ensure appropriate representation among stakeholders and regions, and will focus on emerging data and information technologies that play a significant role in the future airspace environment.
