JARUS plenary meeting in Ottawa elects board members, pursues standards harmonisation

The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) appointed board members at the second JARUS Plenary meeting of 2023, hosted by Transport Canada in Ottawa in mid-September.

Giovanni Di Antonio, ENAC innovation technology director, was re-elected as the chair of JARUS, and Catalin Radu, Director General of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan become vice-chair.

Kazakhstan has become the first country in Central Asia to join JARUS in July 2023. Kazakhstan is the 66th country to join this non-profit international organization. JARUS serves as a platform for regulators, industry experts, and stakeholders to collaborate in developing and harmonizing standards and regulations for unmanned aircraft systems.
