DroneShield has been awarded a three-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a maximum value of USD500 million under Joint Interagency Task Force 401’s (JIATF-401) Domestic Shield initiative.
The contract provides a procurement pathway for DroneShield’s counter-UAS capabilities to support the protection of US defence infrastructure and other priority locations. Individual orders will be placed under the IDIQ as specific requirements arise.
Domestic Shield is a JIATF-401 initiative focused on accelerating the deployment of counter-UAS capabilities against small UAS threats across the US.
DroneShield has previously supplied its DroneSentry-X Mk2 mobile counter-UAS system to JIATF-401, including installations on US Infantry Squad Vehicles. Its capabilities are also included in the JIATF-401 Counter-UAS Marketplace.
The company said the new contract will provide an additional procurement route as JIATF-401 expands counter-UAS protection across military installations, critical infrastructure and other priority locations.
The company has also launched Mission Ready Services, an annual subscription offering that combines software updates, training, technical support and customer resources for its counter-UAS systems.
The service replaces DroneShield’s previous software-only subscription model and is designed to provide support throughout the operational lifecycle of deployed systems.
Mission Ready Services includes four components: ongoing software and security updates; self-paced eLearning for operators, administrators and leadership teams; technical support; and access to the DroneShield Access Portal for documentation, training, renewals and support.
DroneShield said the eLearning programme includes completion tracking and certification, while support is available through basic and extended options depending on customer requirements.
The service is available globally across DroneShield’s existing and next-generation product lines and is offered as an annually renewable service. Existing software subscription customers will transition to Mission Ready Services at their next renewal.
DroneShield said more than 4,100 of its software-enabled devices are currently deployed, providing the initial installed base for the service.
