Aselsan has demonstrated the operational capabilities of its KORKUT 35 air defence system in a live-fire demonstration attended by defence delegations from 12 countries. The particular focus of the event was on defending against kamikaze uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and mini/micro UAS.
The company said on 28 September that the demonstration showed the system’s ability to deliver accurate fire while on the move, as well as its capabilities to detect, track, engage and neutralise moving targets under representative operational conditions.
“Under operational representative conditions, the system successfully engaged different UAS, including fixed-wing, delta-wing and mini/micro UAVs,” Aselsan said in a press release. “In a separate scenario, KORKUT 35 demonstrated its firing accuracy and shot dispersion against a moving ground target while both the system and target were in motion.”
