The Office of Inspector General at the US Department of Transportation (DOT-OIG) has reported that on 9 September 2026, a Federal grand jury in the US District Court for the District of Maine indicted a man on 34 counts related to explosives and the unlawful operation of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).
The indictment alleges that from 15 June 2022, to 7 April 2024, Joshua Brydon transported explosives with intent to injure or intimidate someone or damage property, possessed an unregistered destructive device, operated as an airman without an airman’s certificate, and owned and operated an unregistered aircraft.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration Law Enforcement Assistance Program and the Maine Office of State Fire Marshal.
