Spain’s State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has issued a new UAS Light Operator Certificate (LUC) to the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC).
The LUC certificate allows authorised operators to more autonomously manage certain drone operations without the need to request individual approvals. The certificate can be exercised both in Spain and in other European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) member states.
CATEC serves as a reference centre in aerospace research and technological development. In June, the centre successfully completed and flight-validated its new GNSS-free navigation technology.
