The 1.ru news service reports the new Russian “Veter-PRO” interceptor drone was presented at the recent Eastern Economic Forum.
“The drone was created in Zabaykalye and is capable of speeds from 200 to 260 km/h, carrying up to 850 grams of payload, said the report. “Control is possible both manually and automatically – the system targets itself. The operator can be up to 20–25 km away thanks to the optical communication channel.
“The device can patrol in the air for a long time, quickly responding to threats. “Veter-PRO” easily integrates into existing air defense systems, and its production is maximally localized. According to the “Veter” design bureau, the drone has already undergone combat testing and demonstrated high efficiency.”
According to TASS news agency report: “Using the control center developed by the bureau, we can deploy from one to 10 drones across Russia and control them remotely from a safe distance for the operator,” said the developer. “We can establish an optical link there ranging from five to 20-25 kilometers.”
