Dufour Aerospace has successfully completed its first beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights with the Aero-200 in Sweden.
“Operating from Västervik Airfield in Sweden, our team conducted four BVLOS missions over the Baltic Sea in a single day, accumulating 3 hours and 45 minutes of flight time and covering more than 240 km, not including distance during loitering patterns,” the company said in a LinkedIn post. “The campaign included multiple long-range missions of up to 80 km, with the Aero-200 returning safely to Västervik Airfield after each flight.”
BVLOS expands the Aero-200’s potential, including A-to-B missions. The tilt-wing aircraft is designed for long distant flights and can carry large loads including blood and vaccines that require specialist transportation environments. It is expected to enter the market in 2027.
Västervik Drone Science Park (VDSP) provided the infrastructure required to enable Dufour to conduct the BVLOS operations from Västervik Airfield.
