As part of the project to expand competence centres and infrastructure for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) traffic management, Poland’s air navigation services provider (PANSA) will roll out a new version of the DroneTower mobile application.
DroneTower is Poland’s official IT system for reporting the intention to perform drone flights which negates the need for UAS pilots to call air traffic control.
While details of of the update are yet to be announced, PANSA said users must ensure that they log into the DroneTower application using a KSID account as no other log in will be possible with the new version. A KSID account is a profile on Poland’s National Drone Information System (Krajowy System Informacji Dronowej).
UAS pilots are encouraged to connect their KSID account to their current PansaUTM (DroneTower) account no later than 18 August.
“Failure to connect your accounts will result in the loss of your check-in history saved in the DroneTower app after the August update is implemented,” PANSA said.
Before connecting accounts, users must have completed the Mission Planning – KSID Mission Creator Mission Planning training.
