Earlier this month autonomous drone delivery company Manna announced the launch of its first full-scale metropolitan US operation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, establishing the city as its central operational base in the United States.
“Founded in Ireland in 2018, Manna has completed almost 380,000 global deliveries on one of the world’s most advanced drone delivery platforms,” said the company in a press statement. “Over the next three years, Manna expects to create more than 1,000 jobs in Tulsa — across aviation and flight operations, commercial operations, customer support, manufacturing, maintenance and business functions — with plans to build our U.S. manufacturing base here to power our entire American expansion. Tulsa is the foundation for Manna’s wider U.S. rollout: the first step in demonstrating how autonomous drone delivery can transform everyday logistics, market by market, across the country.”
Meanwhile Matternet, an autonomous FAA Type-Certified drone delivery platform, today announced a new operational partnership with Beeline UAS to support the expansion of Matternet’s commercial drone delivery network.
“Operating under its FAA Part 135 certificate, Beeline will operate Matternet’s drone delivery platform in key U.S. markets,” said a company press release. “Beeline joins Ameriflight and UPS Flight Forward as a Part 135 operating partner within the Matternet network. This partnership marks another step in Matternet’s expansion as demand for drone delivery accelerates across the U.S. Matternet and Beeline will initially focus on expanding Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Beeline UAS is a B2B operations solutions provider that integrates unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technologies into the national airspace system and regulatory framework. Operating under its FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate, Beeline UAS does not build or sell hardware, but instead provides the operational infrastructure, regulatory expertise, and scalable frameworks that allow platform partners to move to profitable, repeatable commercial operations.
