Destinus, in collaboration with the Spanish Navy, reports it has successfully demonstrated the launch of a Hornet Block 1 interceptor from the F-81 Santa María frigate.
“The test showcased a containerised naval deployment concept for maritime air defence, highlighting how rapidly deployable interceptor systems can be integrated aboard existing naval platforms,” said the company in a press release. “The demonstration explored new approaches to enhancing the protection of naval assets against evolving aerial threats.”
Hornet is a dual-role system enabling both subsonic threat interception and controlled precision strike within a single platform. EO/IR and radar guidance enable autonomous engagement in GNSS-denied environments.
