Eurosatory 2026 – LACROIX, Bertin, MC2 partner to protect armoured vehicles from drone attacks

LACROIX, Bertin Technologies and MC2 Technologies have developed an extended version of the S-KAPS system which protects combat vehicles from drone attacks.

“By combining multi-sensor analysis and drone interception, this new technological component of the SKAPS system provides armoured forces with a comprehensive and modular protective bubble, tailored to the asymmetric threats of modern operational theatres,” said a LACROIX press release.

“In 2016, Lacroix launched the first-generation S-KAPS system, known as AOS. This system automatically linked a series of laser detectors to a masking system via a dedicated control unit.
Building on this experience, and to address the new and pressing threats arising from current conflicts, LACROIX has developed a new version of the S-KAPS system, providing a more modular and adaptable response to modern requirements. This new version is based on a next-generation generic computing unit incorporating protection algorithms. Depending on requirements, different types of sensors can be integrated. Similarly, the protection coverage can be extended to hemispherical masking.”

To optimise the S-KAPS system against the drone threat, LACROIX has spent the last two years developing additional detection technologies to counter this threat.

In addition to laser detection and acoustic detection (Metravib’s Pilar system) now features the HADDES portable RF drone detection sensor and PeriSight Top Attack 360° passive infrared optronic solution designed to protect armored vehicles against the most advanced drone threats.
