Anduril to supply US Customs and Border Protection with 200 Extended Range Sentry Towers

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will purchase more than 200 Extended Range Sentry Towers (XRST) from Anduril to expand autonomous situational awareness across a much larger portion of the Southwest Border. The USD363 million contract builds on more than seven years of collaboration between Anduril and CBP, spanning the delivery and sustainment of hundreds of autonomous systems, said the company in a press release.

“Anduril has adapted and improved the Sentry family of systems in lockstep with CBP as challenges at the border changed and the mission evolved,” said Anduril. “The XRST is our latest capability, detecting activity at a vastly greater range for different operational requirements. The 80-foot expeditionary tower is equipped with high-performance sensors to autonomously detect, classify, and track objects of interest at ranges exceeding 5 miles. Together, the Extended Range and Standard Range Sentry Towers form a layered network that provides persistent, comprehensive coverage across both broad and complex border terrain. After passing CBP’s acceptance test in November 2024, Anduril expanded the team of software engineers dedicated specifically to refining the long-range autonomous capability required by Border Patrol Agents.”
