For Poland, this year’s International Drone Day on May 2 was a record-breaker. The national air navigation services provider, PANSA, reports that there were 18,317 drone flights that day.
The previous record – also from the May Day weekend – was beaten by as much as 50%.
In Poland, reporting a flight is a legal obligation, and PANSA’s DroneTower app enables operators to meet this requirement while providing an overview of available airspace.
Because May 2 was a Saturday this year, PANSA assumes that most of the flights were for hobby purposes.
