EUROCAE opens C-UAS in controlled airspace consultation

EUROCAE has opened a consultation on counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) in controlled airspace.

EUROCAE’s working group WG-115 Counter UAS (C-UAS), is preparing an update to ED-286 “Operational Services and Environment Definition (OSED) for Counter UAS Systems in Controlled Airspace”, which was published in March 2021.

Since then, the understanding of the C-UAS system operating context has evolved, and a review of ED-286 is needed to better align to current thinking and provide relevant guidance to potential users of C-UAS systems. Scenarios, use cases and risk assessment guidelines have been developed to provide additional detail of the operating context for C-UAS.

The proposed draft can be found on the EUROCAE Workspace and comments can be provided via a form. Non-members of EUROCAE can register and click on “Access only to Open Consultation”. Early replies are encouraged with an end date of 25 June.
