UK’s SteelRock wins USD9.5 million contract for NightFighter C-UAS system

The US war department reports SteelRock Technologies of London, United Kingdom, has been awarded a USD9.5 million firm-fixed-price and cost reimbursement contract for the procurement of NightFighter Mini Systems and spares in support of Program Manager Ground Based Air Defense, Organic-Counter small Unmanned Aerial Systems (O-CsUAS).

“The O-CsUAS is an Urgent Statement of Need designed for air self-defense against the sUAS threat,” said the statement.Work will be performed in London, United Kingdom (100%). “The delivery of supplies will be on or before Aug. 25, 2026. Fiscal 2024 procurement (Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $9,515,508 will be obligated at the time of award. This contract was awarded under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 2304(a)(2) Unusual and Compelling Urgency for other than full and open competition. Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Virginia, is the contracting activity (M67854-26-C-0048).”

NightFighter S is a high-performance, standalone threat neutralisation solution for use in a wide range of military and civil protection environments, said the company in a website statement. “This two-piece man-portable system comprises a handset and tablet controller linked to electronics housed in a backpack that can be deployed rapidly in the field by one or two operators.”
