India’s Jio-bp and VJaitra to launch nationwide network of eVTOL charging stations

India’s Jio-bp and VJaitra Air Mobility have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop a nationwide charging infrastructure ecosystem over next-generation vertiports for electric and hydrogen-powered air taxis, according to a Linkedin post.

Jio-bp will design and deploy charging infrastructure to support VJaitra’s electric eVTOL fleet across key urban and intercity routes and will produce aviation-standard green hydrogen and establish a nationwide distribution network to enable hydrogen-powered air taxi operations, ensuring clean, long-range, and high-efficiency mobility.

£The collaboration will focus on building a pan-India network of charging and hydrogen refueling points, enabling seamless operations for Vjaitra’s electric and hydrogen eVTOL air taxi, said the post, ”Jio-BP plans to integrate Next-Generation vertiports into its large-format fuel stations on highways and urban corridors. These hubs will support: passenger onboarding and disembarkation; a0ir taxi charging and hydrogen refuelling; multimodal mobility integration with road transport.”
