Canadian UAVS launches new, more capable version of its Sparrowhawk radar

In a Linkedin post Canadian UAVs has announced the launch of its Sparrowhawk Radar 6.0.

The new Sparrowhawk radar is offered in portable/tactical versions for airspace surveillance on demand, with radar track fusion allowing for a common operating picture across many radars. The new system features low bandwidth data streams for remote locations and tracking of smaller and more ‘bespoke’ targets such as gliders, loitering munitions, gyrocopters etc, along with improved weather handling, including weather system tracking, and tracks through rain

The system has defined new alert zones, for audible alerts when airspace is violated, with a detection range of 26km..

“Sparrowhawk is the most economical ground based radar on the market at USD180,000,” says the company.
