Over the last two days Iranian drone attacks have been reported at several military bases hosting US, UK and French troops.
According to the New York Times, three US service members were killed and five seriously wounded in a strike at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.
Facilities in Bahrain, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates, plus other sites in Kuwait, including the Ali al-Salem Air Base, were hit on Saturday and Sunday, including a drone strike on the US Naval base in Bahrain, which sparked a major fire.
On March 1, a Shahed-type drone struck the runway of RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. The UK’s Ministry of Defence confirmed minor material damage and no casualties, but initiated the evacuation of families and non-essential staff. Meanwhile, an Iranian drone attack on an Abu Dhabi naval base hosting French forces caused a fire but no casualties, the UAE’s defence ministry said on March 1.
