India’s Apollo Microsystems “given access to DRDO laser counter-UAS research”

Apollo Micro Systems, a Hyderabad-based aerospace and defence firm, reports it has secured a government Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) approval to access Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) systems technologies from two DRDO entities: DRDO’s CHESS facility (Hyderabad) and IRDE facility (Dehradun).

According to media reports, the approvals are for two distinct transfers of technology (ToT) relating to Laser-based Directed Energy Weapon systems and EO Tracking System.

This will allows Apollo AMS to develop laser-based tracking and counter-UAS weapon systems
