Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a EUR 500 million contract with the government of Denmark for the delivery of National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) air defence.
The NASAMS system consists of Raytheon’s radar and missile variants, as well as KONGSBERG’s Fire Distribution Center (FDC) and multi-missile launchers.
NASAMS can employ a mix of missiles in addition to the AMRAAM. The AMRAAM-Extended Range and AIM-9X Sidewinder provides both longer- and shorter-range capability.
With this procurement Denmark becomes the 14th NASAMS user nation, and the eight nation in NATO.
