JEDA launches European drone and AAM market survey

The Joint European Drone Associations (JEDA) has launched a Europe-wide drone and advanced air mobility (AAM) market survey.

“For several years now, JEDA Competence Group 1 (CG1) has been carrying out research and analytical work to better understand the evolving European drone ecosystem, ensuring that regulatory and policy developments reflect the realities and needs of the market,” the organisation said in a LinkedIn post. “Continuing this mission, CG1 is now launching a new Europe-wide study that will explore a central question: How does the drone market develop differently in countries that are subject to the same regulation?”

The study aims to examine the development of drone and AAM markets across Europe under the unified EASA regulatory framework; identify similarities and differences between European countries; analyse the main drone and AAM use cases prioritised by each country, considering their specific characteristics and territorial needs; and evaluate the key enablers and barriers to drone and AAM market development in each surveyed country.

To achieve this, JEDA will conduct interviews with representatives from various European countries to understand how each nation approaches these topics and challenges. This work will be carried out within CG1 — in particular by CG1 members from the Drones and AAM Observatory of Politecnico di Milano, who will lead the research execution.
