US Army orders Saab’s Giraffe 1X radars to support cooperation partners

The United States Army has awarded Saab a contract to provide radars in support of its security co-operation partners. The order value is approximately USD 46 million. 

Saab will provide Giraffe 1X systems with deliveries starting in 2026. 

Giraffe 1X is designed to provide counter-drone capabilities, at extended ranges, within a compact, mobile system. As a small 3D radar, Giraffe 1X can be used as a mobile, deployable or fixed asset that can be integrated into both ground and naval platforms.
