Multiple media reports say that Fujairah International Airport has hosted the first drone cargo flight from the airport to an offshore platform off the coast of Fujairah. The flight was a result of collaboration between Lodd Autonomous, the Fujairah Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Fujairah Air Navigation Services (FANS).
Fujairah Civil Aviation Authority and FANS plan to expand drone delivery services and develop further cargo operations to meet increasing regional demand, say the reports.
“This is a landmark moment for drone logistics in the UAE,” said Rashid Al Manai, CEO of LODD Autonomous. “For the first time, we’ve proven that unmanned cargo flights from civilian airports to offshore platforms are not only possible—but safe, efficient, and scalable.”
