Epirus has opened a 5,300 square foot facility within Lawton Fort Sill’s Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA) Innovation Park, a centre for technological advancement and home to the Joint C-sUAS University.
The Epirus Immersive Innovation Center (EIIC) is an interactive space designed to serve as an experience centre to support the use of emerging counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) technologies like the company’s Leonidas high-power microwave (HPM) technology platform and weaponised electromagnetic interference (WEMI) capability.
The EIIC provides a platform for user-centric UI/UX development and experimentation. “With multiple simulation terminals, interactive control interfaces and mission planning bays, the centre enables users to refine operational concepts and increase the effectiveness of the Leonidas one-to-many aerial defeat capability,” Epirus said at the new facility’s launch.
The centre is in close proximity to Fort Sill, home to the U.S. Army’s air defence artillery force, where soldiers train to detect, track and neutralise airborne threats like autonomous, robotic, asymmetric drone attacks.
