Danish startup Skypuzzler, which focuses on enabling scalable drone operations in Europe, has successfully closed its seed funding round with Rethink Ventures and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund. The investment will support Skypuzzler’s ambition of deploying digital Air Traffic Control solutions.
With the support of Rethink Ventures and the EIC Fund, Skypuzzler will help manage growing airspace complexity in alignment with the EU Drone Strategy 2.0 and U-space regulation for digital, safe and sustainable drone integration.
Matthias Schanze, General Partner at Rethink Ventures, said drone safety enablement and integration with conventional air traffic systems are vital for market growth. “Already today, we see adoption in various sectors, with drones delivering medicine and parts to European islands. By 2030, over 1 million drones in Europe will require safe operation. Skypuzzler’s partnership with THALES and DSV confirms this trajectory, and we’re excited to support them as a key enabler in the drone logistics ecosystem.”
The EIC Fund invests in companies developing and commercialising disruptive technologies. In addition to seed investment, Skypuzzler is supported by a grant under the EIC Accelerator and gains access to networking and strategic guidance.
“The EIC Fund is happy to have joined this investment, supporting Skypuzzler’s pioneering work in revolutionising air traffic management and optimising the future of aviation. This achievement is an important milestone in their growth journey, and a strong signal of confidence in their technology and vision,” said Svetoslava Georgieva, Chair of the EIC Fund Board.
