HHLA Sky and Skycharge team up to support autonomous drone fleets

HHLA Sky and Skycharge have formed a strategic integration partnership for scalable, 24/7 autonomous operations.

HHLA Sky – the drone unit of the Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, HHLA, at the Port of Hamburg – provides an integrated drone and mobile robot management and control software platform, the open Integrated Control Center, which enables the centralised  fleet management of multiple, simultaneous real-world missions, including beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations. The company also manufactures industry-grade drones.

Skycharge delivers patented, CE-ready docking and contact-based charging systems, already in use in defence, logistics and energy sectors. These are designed to work across drone types, without vendor lock-in or moving parts.

The new partnership sees Skycharge and HHLA Sky integrating Skycharge infrastructure across the entire HHLA Sky drone lineup, including its AllSky drone base station.

Quadcopters, hexacopters, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and coaxial heavy lifters will all be supported by the integration.
