Scottish drone port welcomes drone operators to demonstrate BVLOS services

Scotland’s Mercury Drone Ports programme welcomes drone companies interested in developing technology to support beyond line of sight (BVLOS) operations at the Mercury Drone Ports centre of excellence for drone technologies in Angus.

The drone ports programme has launched drone noise trials to collect data to inform further research. DTLX, University of Salford, and Edinburgh Drone Company recently tested a range of uncrewed aerial systems in the port environment.

Mercury Drone Ports received GBP5.6 million government funding in 2021 to develop the trial drone airspace.
