Citymesh Safety Drones has received operational authorisation from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights in both controlled and uncontrolled airspace over sparsely populated areas.
This certification confirms the company’s adherence to compliance and operational standards under EU Regulation 2019/947. Citymesh can integrate with SkeyDrone’s Tactical Identification System and the company says that the BVLOS authorisation will enable large-scale drone operations with the Nokia NDN Hexacopter v5.2.
In April. Citymesh launched Belgium’s first permanently stationed intervention drone at DronePort Sint-Truiden – a pilot project in cooperation with the emergency services.
