UK civil aviation regulator seeks applicants for space regulatory team lead

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) seeks applicants for the role of Space Regulatory Team Lead.

The space licensing and monitoring team oversee the licensing and regulation of space activity under the Space Industry Act 2018 (SIA), Outer Space Act 1986 (OSA) and Air Navigation Order 2016 (ANO) permissions. Reporting to the Head of space licensing and monitoring. In the interim the post holder will report to the Chief Engineer. The post holder will manage, support and mentor a team of space inspectors.

The role will be expected to ensure the UK Space Regulator meets its obligation and objectives by carrying out monitoring activity, including enforcement activities as required.

This work will include engagement with internal and external stakeholders, particularly with industry, legal advisors, and government.

The post holder maybe required to travel to visit space operators and licensees as part of ongoing engagement throughout the lifecycle of monitoring, inspection, and enforcement as required.
