AFWERX, the US Air Force innovation unit, has awarded a contract to Lighthouse Avionics to scale its AI-driven Virtual Control Tower (VCT).
Lighthouse Avionics will use the USD1.25M contract award to develop VICTOR V3 to address challenges identified by the Air Force. This will include transitioning the company’s beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) sensing technology into a scalable, Defense Department-optimised drone sensing system.
Lighthouse will partner with the 1174th Attack Wing, 96th Test Wing, Airavat and NUAIR on the project.
