The Netherlands plans to participate in a US virtual and centralised platform offering drones and anti-drone systems. The platform currently has eight international participants. The Netherlands’ National Armaments Director Lieutenant General Harold Boekholt signed the participation agreement for the UAS & C-UAS Marketplace Initiative at Eurosatory last week.
The initiative’s participants initially purchase systems produced in the United States. The intention is that participants will eventually be able to offer resources themselves. In addition to the Netherlands and the United States, the participating countries are Denmark, Finland, France, Lithuania, the United Kingdom and Sweden. Other countries may join later.
There was also an agreement made between the Netherlands and Sweden during Eurosatory. This concerns the procurement of Smart-L radars from Thales.
