Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has issued a new directive to better regulate the sale and registration of uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) as part of its National Aviation Strategy 2040.
Under the directive, commercial outlets offering UAS for sale must hold a valid license and adhere to regulatory frameworks. Authorised sellers are also required to register all drone units through the official AirPortal platform and a formal transfer of ownership to the buyer must be completed before the UAS is handed over.
The sale, trade and/or operation of UAS outside of the approved channels is a legal violation.
