Omani startup collaborates with aviation authority to launch unmanned traffic management system

Omani company Serb is preparing to launch a new drone management system, says a report by the Oman Observer.

Serb is designing an app in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority to provide a map showcasing the locations where flying drones is permissible to enable safe drone flights. The system will offer its services to three types of users: recreational, commercial and enterprise. Additionally, it will also allow users to acquire flying licenses from the authority within the application.

The app will also allow communication between all forms of aircraft, while prioritising important missions. The web and app-based software is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

Serb, formerly known as AirGo, was founded by CEO Anwar al Hinai and COO Malik al Nabhani and is part of the Omantel Innovation Lab accelerator.
