AW-Drones to host workshop on ‘Technical standards to support U-space implementation in Europe’

Registration is open for the 2nd workshop hosted by AW-Drones addressing technical standards to support U-space implementation in Europe that takes place on 5 November 2020. The event will present participants with the mapping between relevant standards and U-space regulatory requirements; and enable participants to identify priorities and needs for the implementation of U-space in Europe, thus contributing to the EU rulemaking process. Attendees will be able to share their views with experts from standards design organizations including the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and project officers from the Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA).

The European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme is funding AW-Drones to provide guidance for harmonisation of standards to support future EU drone regulation. AW-Drones supports the rulemaking process for the definition of rules, technical standards and procedures for civilian drones to enable safe and reliable operations in the European Union.

The workshop is open to everybody to attend, but it addresses in particular those active in the fields of law-making, aviation, and drone-related activities, such as:
Standard making bodies
Regulators
Drone manufacturers
Drone operators
U-Space and UAS related service providers
Research and academia.

Participation is free, but registration is needed:  https://lnkd.in/dYzcwtq
