Xplorate granted BVLOS approval across 58,000 km of mixed Queensland airspace

Xplorate has been granted a new approval to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) in mixed airspace across 58,000 km² of Queensland. In 2024, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia first granted Xplorate regulatory approval for BVLOS operations up to 500 km in Queensland.

The company said this latest approval means it can now monitor critical infrastructure and facilities from the sky, day or night, over an area the size of Switzerland.

In June, Xplorate announced a contract for long-range BVLOS operations in Australia.
