Wing and Walmart are scaling drone delivery services to an additional 150 stores, with the aim of serving more than 40 million consumers. Walmart and Wing plan to establish a network of over 270 drone delivery locations by the end of 2027, stretching from Los Angeles to Miami.
The planned expansion builds on operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Metro Atlanta areas, where Wing reports some customers ordering drone deliveries three times a week, and overall deliveries increasing substantially within the last six months.
Wing and Walmart’s new service areas will include major metropolitan hubs such as: Los Angeles, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Miami, with others to be announced later. This expands the previously slated expansion markets of Houston, Orlando, Tampa and Charlotte, which continues later this week when Wing and Walmart start operating in Houston on January 15.
